I'm a social research with international experience. with in I've been Visiting Research Fellow at Dept. of Development Sociology/Polson Institute for Global Development - Cornell University (US) in 2009-2010. I've also been visiting doctoral student at the University of Warwick - Warwick Business School, where I joined the Public Policy Group led by prof. Colin Crouch in 2006-2007. My research interests include topics related to electronic democracy, information management, technology and innovation policies, open data and open government. My research activity is now focused on open access and open data. In this context, I presented and published some articles. Tracking the diffusion of open data policy in the EU, presented at IPSA World Congress in Madrid, in the panel Open Government – chaired by the Research Committee on Electronic Democracy. Recently I joined the Open Knowledge Foundation Network. I frequently write on issues related to open data and open government. I'm also in charge of the Italian version of the last book by prof. David Harvey, Rebel Cities, published in US by Verso Books and in Italy by Il Saggiatore.
I miei studi: I hold a PhD in Sociology and Social Research. My PhD dissertation - The World Bank: knowledge, technology and development in a multilateral institution, looked at the World Bank as a knowledge producer and analyzed the organizational transformation during Wolfensohn presidency and the launch of the online aid-management platform powered by the Bank, and the implementation of the Development Gateway web portal. I've 5-years Laurea in Communication Sciences. Final thesis was focused on digital divide. I've also been visiting Universitaet Heidelberg, Soziologie in Germany.
